I have been drawing since early childhood - first simple outline drawings of portraits and other subjects, followed by portraits with more details and shading until I decided to use oils and watercolours some time in my twenties.
 

Due to my parents’ opposition to my studying art because ‘you can’t make a living in that profession’, I studied languages instead. Work commitments and a few rare opportunities for art I was determined to postpone my commitment to art until retirement.
 

Retirement has afforded me time to attend several art courses, namely Aberystwith University and Carmarthenshire Council courses in acrylics, mixed media, landscape painting, portraits painting and sketchbook studies.
 

Now I enjoy the time to concentrate on my painting using various media - watercolours, acrylics, oils pastels, ink and pencil covering various subjects including landscapes, flora and fauna, portraits (people and animals) and abstracts.
